: well, at least you can keep track of which ones were successful, so you know in advance the second time someone request it.

: : : : In regard to Alan's treatise on foo cakes,
: : : : the fact that one must ascertain in advance wether
: : : : or not foo creation is possible derails this
: : : : deferred constructiion policy which I have myself
: : : : much considered. I have noticed that Vivek and Kalpol

ok i just got back from Depeche Mode, and i can't think, but what i did was make a fake foo object (incrementing the counter) and then when it was accessed i made a real one(without incrementing). so the program thinks it has a foo all ready and willing to make sweet love down by the fire, but it really doesn't until it actually tries to access it. i hope i was correct in assuming that there will be many more requests to create a foo than requests to access it.
