I've been playing games a long time. One night around 1996 when I was bored I went down to Barnes and Noble, and bought Marathon 2:Durandal. I had never really liked Doom - I found it uninteresting. But this game had a story, action, double-fisted shooting, and the graphics at the time impressed me. It's not much to look at today - Half-life blew it away in almost every respect (except the two-handed shotgun action - that was kind of hard to beat). I still play it sometimes, though.
